Gold Waves Over Seaweed

This is one of my favorite pieces from the ocean abstracts collection. The power of the waves turns rock to sand even though it is only water. The power of consistency, like being at the school on time everyday to pick up your kindergartener.

Inspiration: I've always admired the sculpture work of George Tsutakawa. His fountains drew upon stylized organic forms that he captured in brass and copper. My seaweed studies are inspired by him.

The shape and color scheme was influenced by Frank Fujii, a well known designer/artist who specialized in strong graphic images with dynamic color schemes. Frank was also the one who slid me into a night graphic design program that had a one year waiting list.

This piece serves as a base that will launch many different branches in the future.
